In the program you will discover how to move past difficulties, learn new ways of interacting, and create a marriage that you love. Together, we will uncover your roadblocks and identify the steps you can take to move forward in a positive direction. You will learn how to shift your interactions into ones that are more enjoyable and leave you feeling at ease, happier and more loving. The program is designed for you to complete by yourself, with optional activities to complete with your husband.[/text_block]

What Is the Program Exactly?

Your Getting to Happily Program includes 8 sessions that cover specific topics critical to creating a happier marriage. Over 8 weeks, I will be your personal coach guiding you through some of your toughest moments. Each session includes a coaching lesson with a worksheet you complete on your own. Then we will meet together, during 60 minute sessions to go over the lesson where I will provide personal 1-on-1 coaching to move you forward.

Session 1: What’s Your Story?

  • uncover the stories you tell yourself about your husband and marriage so you become aware of your thought patterns
  • identify the ways your story influences how you act in your relationship and relate to your husband so you can focus on what you want to change
  • examine and shift your thoughts in ways that enable you to see your relationship in a whole new light
  • take specific actions to recreate your story in a way that gives you peace, contentment and leaves you feeling empowered

Session 2: Me, Myself & I

  •  examine how you interact with your husband and within your marriage so you notice important patterns
  • understand why certain things in your marriage trigger your negative emotions (anger, frustration, sadness, etc.) so you can learn to remain calm during hot-button situations
  • discover the places where conflict with your partner can help you grow and bring you closer as a couple
  • try new ways of responding to upsetting events with strategies that help you keep your cool

Session 3: What’s In Your Manual? 

  • gain clarity on the specific expectations you hold for your husband and marriage and why those expectations are important to you

  • learn how to better respond when expectations are not being met so that you avoid unnecessary disagreements

  • learn specific strategies you can use to manage your emotions in more productive ways that leave you feeling in control

  • practice new ways of expressing yourself that are productive, healthy and reduce miscommunication

  • understand what it truly means to accept what is and why it’s so important to your happiness

  • learn how to truly release the things beyond your control so you can maintain your peace of mind, even in the midst of chaos

  • examine the factors that lead you to disconnect from your husband and how to reconnect in simple every day ways
  • discover why your ability to move towards your husband can transform your marriage even when things are really tough

  • overcome the specific barriers that prevent you from creating closeness and connection when you know you should

Session 8: Practicing Compassion and Forgiveness

  • understand why being compassionate and offering forgiveness benefits you more than anyone else
  • process past hurts and move through resentment without a play-by-play of what happened

  • discover small ways to move to a place of genuine compassion and forgiveness on a daily basis
